Course Fees

Swan Hill International College takes rolling enrolments for Horticulture, which allows international students to enrol at any time of the year. It takes about six weeks for your application to be assessed by the College and for immigration authorities to approve your student visa application. Hospitality students will need to contact the college regarding enrolment availability.

Paying fees: All fees must be paid before each semester starts, or you will not be allowed to start or continue your studies.

Application Fee

A non refundable $150 application fee is payable with all applicatins for study as an international student at Swan Hill International College.

Transport Fee

All students are advised that a $5 fee will be charged if transport is required to the practical training farm.

Please Note:

Swan Hill International College will charge $50 to create a new eCOE if a student requires a change to their commencement date.

Enrolment Fee

When enrolling, students pay A$5000 for their 1st semester course fee, $1250 for materials and $150 for their application fee. If you are unable to attend fees will be refundable according to our refund policy.

Resource Material & Equipment Charge (AU$1250)

When enrolling all Hospitality and Horticulture students are expected to pay a $1250 Resource Material and Equipment charge. This $1250 is in addition to our tuition fees and used as follows;

Hospitality Students: The fee is used for uniforms (kitchen trousers and top, front of house shirt with logos) knife, course notes, photocopying, internet usage and food for demonstration lessons. Students are responsible for purchasing the following items for their course: knives (if needed), cap, black trousers and shoes.

Production Horticulture Students: The fee is used for uniform, some personal protective equipment, course notes, photocopying, internet usage and consumable items for demonstration lessons. Students are responsible for purchasing the following items for their course if needed: hand secateurs, ear protection and safety goggles.

General Service costs: The services below will be provided subject to approval before students commence their studies, not all students will require these services. The education cost is not negotiable as it relates to the standard course fee structure.

Overseas Health Cover … OSHC (AU$374) as of January 2010

International students are required by the Government to join a private health insurance scheme. The Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) premium must be paid before a student visa is issued. OSHC is insurance for the costs paid for medical and hospital care which international students may need while in Australia. OSHC will also pay for most prescription drugs and emergency ambulance transport.

You will also need to maintain OSHC throughout your stay in Australia.

Reassessment on a Unit

Students deemed as Not Yet Competent (NYC) in a Unit of Competency are permitted to undertake 2 re-assessments. Re-assessments are conducted at the end of each academic term.

Repeating Units of Competency

If a student is deemed Not Yet Competent after 2 re-assessments, the student will be required to repeat the entire unit of competency, subject to timetable availability.

Uniforms

Additional uniforms can be purchased from local retailers; prices will vary depending on the item.

Stationary

Stationary supplies (pens, paper, eraser, etc) can be purchased from local retailers; prices will vary depending on the item.

Please Note:

Assessments and required documentation will only be processed if all outstanding fees are paid, attendance has not dropped below 80%, students are up to date with course work and all other student requirements have been fulfilled. All current and past students must use the General Request Form to have documentation processed.
